Telehealth is a broad term that covers the provision of health services remotely, and in real time or asynchronous manner. Telehealth may refer to use of telephone, videoconferencing, health or assessment Applications (Apps), email or other modes of digital communication.
Whilst the COVID-19 Pandemic has resulted in many health practitioners converting to an online format, the benefits of Telehealth, particularly for those whose access to face to face consultation is impacted by geographical distance, a busy daily schedule, limited mobility or other barriers.
Dr Jacqui Yoxall has been providing therapy and assessment services via telephone and videoconference for several years with positive feedback from clients and third party referrers.
Whilst not all psychological services can be delivered in a Telehealth format, there is a growing evidence-base for use of Telehealth to deliver a substantial number of assessments and therapy interventions.
